QUALIFICATIONS:
- Shall hold a bachelor's degree or higher and the required Kentucky certificate for the assigned position. (An emphasis in mathematics is preferred.)
- Shall have experience as a classroom teacher.
- Shall demonstrate the ability to work effectively with students, peers and adults.
- Shall demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and faculty.
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Shall have the ability to sit, stoop, possibly lift up to 50 pounds or more, any and all body movements as related to the job description.
JOB GOAL:
To provide small group classroom instruction to identified low achieving students in the area of mathematics.
GENERAL DUTIES and PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Shall determine appropriate action within clearly defined guidelines.
- Shall present a positive image of the school to parents, and convey to them the school's genuine concern with the education, growth and development of each student.
- Shall seek to establish friendly and cooperative partnerships between home and school.
- Shall work to develop a positive public relationship between the school district and the community.
- Shall carry out assignments in a timely manner without undue checking.
- Shall react positively to directives.
- Shall have a willingness to cooperate with the superintendent, district administrators, principals and staff.
- Shall maintain the confidentiality, both verbally and in written form, of each student's educational record.
- Shall strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Shall take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
- Shall adhere to School Board of Education Policies and Procedures.
SPECIFIC DUTIES and PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITES:
- Shall focus on math small group instruction/intervention in grades 9-12.
- Shall report findings to supervisor
- Shall implement best practice math strategies for students who are identified in need.
- Shall collaborate with regular ed. teachers as dictated by student needs.
- Shall keep updated proper documentation.
- Shall assist the building principal in compiling monitoring reports and encourage parent involvement.
- Shall lead instructional evaluation of student work and follow-up teaching targets.
- Shall be assigned to individual schools as needed.
- Shall analyze and disaggregate student achievement data to determine curriculum or instructional priorities for teaching and learning mathematics.
- Shall perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
DAYS OF EMPLOYMENT: 195 days
SALARY: Commensurate with the school district's Certified Salary Schedule.
