We’re looking for a skilled, detail-focused BSA/AML Compliance Specialist to support the BSA, AML, and OFAC Compliance programs. This role assists with monitoring, investigation, and reporting of suspicious activity; conducting risk assessments; and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. This position assists with regulatory research, compliance reviews, risk assessments, and reporting to help the bank mitigate risk and maintain a strong culture of compliance. 

 

Key Responsibilities:



  • Review daily and periodic alerts generated from the bank’s BSA/AML monitoring system.
  • Assist with monitoring and investigating transactions for potential suspicious activity.
  • Support completion of Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews.
  • Help ensure compliance with OFAC and other sanctions screening requirements.
  • Escalate cases requiring further review or filing of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).
  • Assist in preparing and filing SARs and Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) in accordance with FinCEN requirements.
  • Supports Compliance in conducting annual compliance risk assessments.
  • Assist in coordinating responses to internal audits and regulatory examinations.
  • Gather requested documentation, ensure timely responses, track remediation efforts, and assists with other compliance tasks as requested by the Compliance Officer and/or BSA Officer.
  • Maintain a current knowledge base of emerging compliance risks and trends impacting the bank.



Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • 2–5 years of experience in BSA/AML compliance or financial crimes investigations within a financial institution.
  • Working knowledge of BSA/AML, USA PATRIOT Act, OFAC, and related regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with BSA/AML monitoring systems and regulatory reporting platforms (e.g., FinCEN BSA E-Filing).
  • Basic computer skills including MS Office suite as well as typing and 10 key skills to meet production needs of the position.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, and write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • This position will be hybrid to start and has the potential to go primarily or fully remote upon successful completion of onboarding and training. We prefer to hire a qualified candidate who lives in or around Spokane, WA as we'd like to invite you to attend all-staff events in person a few times a year.

      • This position is eligible for annual bonus with the first year being pro-rated based on time in position.
