About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Carson, CA

Details:

• In-Person Tutoring in Carson, CA
• 1 session a week for 1.5 hours
• Hourly rate between $25-$35

Qualifications:

• Background in Education, Special Education, Child Development, or a related field.
• Experience working with students with developmental delays, learning disabilities, or other neurodevelopmental conditions.
• Strong understanding of early literacy and numeracy instruction.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the individual needs of the learner.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, respectful approach with families.
• Patience, creativity, and a commitment to student-centered teaching.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with home hospital or homebound instruction.
• Familiarity with assistive technologies or strategies for non-traditional learners.
• Knowledge of structured literacy approaches (e.g., Orton-Gillingham) is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction in reading, math, and writing, tailored to the student's developmental level and learning profile.
• Use engaging, multi-sensory approaches to teaching, including games and interactive activities.
• Focus on building foundational literacy, including phonemic awareness, letter recognition, vocabulary development, and reading comprehension.
• Collaborate with the family and existing educational providers to ensure consistency in learning goals and strategies.
• Create a positive, supportive learning environment that fosters trust, growth, and confidence.
