We currently have an opportunity for an Account Executive.
Are you an inquisitive, driven to learn and a results-oriented individual looking for a unique experience working with cannabis accounts? HUB is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Account Executive willing to learn about the cannabis industry. In this role you will learn and manage 100% of cannabis exposures relating to manufacturing, dispensaries, cultivation, processors, and everything related to cannabis terminology. If you are a self-starter and passionate about the insurance industry, we’d like you to join our team. This position is hybrid, and candidate must be in close proximity to one of our HUB Northeast offices.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Seeks and takes ownership of opportunities to learn, acquire new knowledge, and deepen technical expertise.
- Responsible for renewals (about 75%) and recommending coverage/ products/risk control recommendations.
- Compare forms, endorsements, exclusions and create summary coverage comparisons
- Responsible for marketing new business (about 25%), including advising customers on protective safeguards, warranties, and coverage
- Negotiate with the underwriters from other insurance companies on rates and coverage.
- Collaborates with team on presentations for existing & prospective clients.
- Responsible for checking, the accuracy of policies, endorsement, audits, etc. received from the insurance companies and invoicing.
- Follow-up on requested changes, renewals, etc. with insurance companies.
- Maintain an accurate suspense system on all items that require a response.
- Working with the team, developing an understanding of the clients' business, strategic priorities, risk strategies and risk management needs and developing innovative approaches to unique client needs.
- Responsible for entering detail into computer on new and maintaining detail on existing accounts.
- Understand agency rating system and company rating systems and websites.
- Communicate with company personnel regarding the client’s needs and/or problems.

- 3+ years of experience managing midsize or larger accounts.
- Able to work in a steady brisk paced environment
- Valid Property & Casualty Insurance license.
- College degree or equivalent work experience.
- Detail oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated and seizes opportunity.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Organization skills required with the ability to multi-task.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to establish and maintain relationships with clients and carriers.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a deadline driven environment.
- Effectively communicate and present proposals to clients.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with Epic Agency Management Systems preferred.
The expected salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
