Location: North of France

What we’re looking for

As a Marine Equipment & Components Surveyor with Lloyd’s Register, you will join our experienced team in France, supporting clients across the marine and offshore manufacturing sectors. You will apply your engineering expertise to assess and confirm the quality of marine materials, equipment, and components during their manufacturing process. This is a client-facing, technically focused role where you’ll contribute directly to safety and compliance across the industry.

What we offer you

  • The opportunity to work for an organisation with a strong purpose and values, committed to safety and sustainability.

  • A full-time permanent position with professional growth opportunities and support for your continued development.

  • Exposure to diverse clients, technologies, and engineering challenges in the marine and offshore sectors.

The role

  • Conduct inspections and surveys of mechanical or electrical parts and components used in the maritime and industrial sectors at manufacturers’ facilities.

  • Follow up on manufacturing processes and witness tests and inspections in line with Lloyd’s Register Rules, relevant Codes, and Standards.

  • Produce deliverables to agreed time, budget, and quality standards, and discuss results with clients.

  • Provide technical advice and ensure all work complies with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.

  • Support service delivery improvement by communicating client feedback and technical insights.

  • Maintain required authorisations and complete routine administrative tasks as needed.

  • Demonstrate a proactive commitment to health, safety, and quality in all activities.

What you bring

  • A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent qualifications from a marine or nautical institution, with relevant sea-going or industry experience.

  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience, ideally within a multinational organisation or a classification society.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing inspection processes, quality assurance, and marine/offshore equipment standards.

  • Membership of a relevant professional institution (I.Eng or equivalent) and working towards or holding Chartered/ Incorporated Engineer status.

  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving methodologies.

  • Excellent command of English (both written and spoken); fluency in French is a strong advantage.

  • A valid European driving licence and willingness to travel within the region as required.

You are someone who

  • Communicates clearly and effectively across all levels, both internally and externally.

  • Takes ownership and accountability for delivering client needs and high-quality results.

  • Is proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple tasks independently.

  • Works collaboratively in a multicultural environment and contributes to team success.

  • Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to continuous improvement and safety.

If the above matches your experience and career aspirations, we would love to hear from you.
