Are you interested in learning more about artisan bakeries? Do you like solo work in a face paced environment? Grand Central Bakery is looking for a janitor to support our facilities team.
No experience necessary, we are willing to train!
The Janitor 1 position is responsible for keeping the entire facility and grounds clean, sanitary and in compliance with all applicable health and sanitation codes to support the production of great artisan bread and delicious café food. This position may drive Grand Central Bakery vehicles to various Grand Central Bakery locations if requirements are met.
The ideal candidate for this position will be self-motivated and independent. They will have high performance standards, strong customer orientation and team mentality, and composure under pressure.

Rate of Pay: This position pays $21.97 per hour.
Schedule: Part-time, 24 or less hours per week. Must be able to work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Schedule flexibility and the ability to work weekends and holidays is required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- At least 18 years of age
- Working knowledge of and ability to speak and understand basic English required
- Maintains food handler’s card – new hires are expected to have a valid card by their first date of work
- Must demonstrate regular attendance by coming to work on scheduled working days and being on time
- Basic math skills required
- In order to drive the following requirements must be met has and maintains a valid Washington or Oregon driver’s license with 5 years of driving experience and a driving record acceptable to Grand Central Bakery, follows policies and procedures in the Driver Safety Manual at all times, must pass a company administered driving test
- The ability to work independently and efficiently with a high degree of autonomy is required
- Flexibility and attention to detail to accurately fulfill frequently changing task-lists
Physical requirements include but are not limited to:
- Working in a building shared with production facilities.
- Constantly exposed to wheat flour dust and other grain dusts (rye, corn, oat). They work in moderately warm and dusty environments with high level of exposure to water and cleaning chemicals.
- Walking the equivalent of up to 3 miles per shift. May be called upon to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
