Position Summary
The Security Supervisor supports the Safety & Security Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the resort’s safety and security functions. This role ensures all colleagues, guests, and assets are protected through consistent application of safety protocols, training, and monitoring. Working in partnership with the Security Manager, the Security Supervisor assists in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and monitoring systems that uphold safety standards and ensure the integrity of our resort. The Security Supervisor assists in supervising the Security team and serves as the departmental leader in the absence of the Safety & Security Manager.
Essential Functions:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Support the Safety & Security Manager in executing all aspects of the property’s safety, security, and loss prevention programs.
- Serve as the acting department leader when the Safety & Security Manager is absent, providing direction, oversight, and decision-making authority.
- Supervise, coach, and schedule Security Officers to ensure 24-hour coverage, service excellence, and adherence to Miraval standards.
Assist in closing department payroll weekly.
Help oversee lost and found protocols to ensure accurate documentation and guest satisfaction.
- Respond promptly to guest and colleague emergencies and incidents; provide assistance, document events, and ensure follow-up and resolution.
- Conduct and review incident and accident reports with accuracy and confidentiality.
Coordinate CPR certification courses and maintain departmental compliance records.
Maintain and administer a comprehensive Golf Cart Safety Program.
- Ensure all AED, fire extinguisher, and fire alarm inspections are current and compliant.
Assist in training protocols and documentation for crisis response scenarios including theft, substance use, detainment, injury, domestic incidents, and environmental emergencies.
Ensure all first aid and emergency equipment is stocked, functional, and accessible.
Support efforts to attract, retain, and develop Security Team members.
Monitor staff parking protocols and ensure safety compliance.
Maintain key inventory and effective key control systems across the property.
Observe and evaluate Security Team performance.
Assist in emergency evacuations and other critical incident responses.
Ensure compliance with OSHA workplace safety standards.
Identify, document, and follow up on safety violations across the property.
Support Workers’ Compensation claims and documentation.
Help monitor and maintain fire panel protocols with guest safety as the top priority.
Maintain professionalism, discretion, and integrity in all guest and colleague interactions.

- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum two years of experience in Security, Safety, or Risk Management; hospitality or resort experience preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience required.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure or emergency situations.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other agencies and management.
- Working knowledge of safety and loss prevention best practices.
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to workplace safety and emergency response.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with surveillance systems preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification required; instructor-level certification preferred.
- Security-related certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP, or equivalent) preferred.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated integrity, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol property for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to perform duties indoors and outdoors, in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to respond swiftly and effectively to emergency situations across the resort property.
- Must be able to talk and hear.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read and interpret retail product labeling.
