General Summary: Responsible for managing all aspects of the housekeeping department. Ensures that the cleanliness of the clinics/administration buildings is being upheld not only by staff but also by contractor. Oversees the overall performance and productivity of the housekeeping department. Also responsible for managing multiple shifts of the housekeeping staff.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages and oversees housekeepers and distribution drivers.
General Requirements: All duties performed will be done accurately and in a timely manner.
1. Assists manager with various tasks as requested.
2. Complies with the policies and procedures of Gonzaba Medical Group.
3. Observes safety precautions at all times.
4. Ability to read and understand supplies and equipment specifications.
5. Cooperate with other personnel to achieve department objectives, maintain good employee relations and interdepartmental objectives.
6. Performs other related duties as assigned.
7. Maintains strict confidentiality.
8. Assists with courier run in the Distribution Driver is out.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
1. Manages the housekeeping department in an effective and efficient manner. This includes filling in as a housekeeper in the event the department is short staffed.
2. Ensures that all supplies are stocked/ordered in a timely manner. This includes all housekeeping, linen, water, and coffee items needed throughout the organization.
3. Manages outside vendors/contractors with the assistance of the Facilities Operations Manager and/or Facilities Coordinator.
4. Visits/monitors all GMG locations to ensure they are being serviced properly.
5. Able to perform the full housekeeper duties which includes the following 3-6 numbered essential duties below.
6. Performs routine cleaning of exam rooms, nursing stations, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, conference rooms, event centers, lobbies, lounges/breakrooms, restrooms, corridors, and exterior benches in a clean, neat, and sanitary manner. This will be completed on a regularly scheduled basis, by performing the following duties:
- Empties all trash containers. Replace trash can liners only if needed. Place all trash in dumpster. Close and lock dumpster.
- Sweeps and mops all hard surface floors.
- Cleans and disinfects restrooms with proper supplies, including sinks, counters, toilet bowls, mirrors, and hardware. Completes restroom logs after servicing restroom.
- Replenishes toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, and hand sanitizer in all restrooms, exam rooms and breakroom areas. (as applicable)
- Vacuums carpeted floors (as applicable).
- Uses damp, disinfectant-treated cloths, duster and/or vacuum cleaner to dust windowsills, blinds, floors, furniture, and equipment in an orderly fashion.
- Cleans smudges on doors and walls, as needed.
- Cleans and disinfects hard surfaces such as countertops, dispensers, hardware, and furniture throughout the clinics/administration buildings.
- Cleans inside of appliances.
- Cleans baseboards.
- Removes and disposes of dirty linen and replenishes in specific areas throughout the clinics.
- Prepares coffee for patients and staff in the morning.
- Gathers all materials and supplies from supply room to transport to work area.
7. Visually inspects buildings’ interior and exterior and notifies Facilities Maintenance of any issues or concerns pertaining to Maintenance.
8. Uses the appropriate chemicals and supplies, according to procedure, provided by Gonzaba Medical Group.
9. This position will require driving a company vehicle or a personal vehicle; therefore, employees must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess, and maintain a current valid Texas Driver License, and proof of current insurance to be subject for mileage reimbursement.
Work Environment: Clinic environment. Exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
Mental / Physical Requirements: Requires manual dexterity, sitting, standing, stooping, reaching, kneeling, crouching, bending, walking. May need to lift up to 40 lbs. without assistance. Close vision and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to work efficiently under pressure.

Qualifications
Education and Training: Minimum high school education or equivalent.
Experience: Must have a minimum of five years’ experience in housekeeping in a leadership role. Previous cleaning experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Other Requirements: Basic computer skills. Must have reliable transportation, insurance, and a valid Class "C" driver's license in good standing. Ability to communicate effectively, written and verbal.
