Engineering Health & Safety Quality Manager, Denver, CO
Arclin is looking for an Engineering Health & Safety Quality Manager for our Denver, CO facility. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position is accountable and responsible for ensuring a safe work environment, maintaining quality, and driving manufacturing excellence. Included is the responsibility for establishing departmental goals and for managing performance against them.
Key Responsibilities:
- Displays all the characteristics of Arclin’s Leadership Model and outwardly communicates and expects the same from all deputies, peers and employees
- Contributes to a team environment conducive to innovation to drive decisions which benefit project outcomes, while building the capabilities of team members
- Lead internal & external audits to ensure compliance with internal site safety and quality standards, including closing audits with proper corrective actions
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by monitoring Safety, Quality and Reliability KPIs and leading initiatives to improve performance
- Lead incident investigations, including determination of root causes and development of corrective actions for safety, quality, and reliability issues
- Support the Plant Manager in preparation of annual planning activities, communicating clear expectations, setting culture & empowering the team to deliver results
Safety Management
- Promote a proactive safety culture through training programs and active field engagement with employees and contractors.
- Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies aligned with OSHA and internal standards, including PPE, work permitting and management of change
- Assume responsibility for risk assessments, including coordinating PHA studies, industrial hygiene studies and driving gap closure
Quality Management
- Manage and improve the internal Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure consistent product quality
- Collaborate with production teams to standardize quality work processes to ensure adherence to quality specifications and reduce variability
- Ensures all product quality incidents have root causes identified and controlled
Continuous Improvement
- Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other improvement methodologies
- Monitor and report on improvement project outcomes and ROI
- Lead implementation of site process data historian to monitor and improve the efficiency and output of the plant
- Serve as primary site contact for capital project development; collaborates on the preparation of project deliverables including design, cost, and equipment selection
Plant Engineering Manager Job Requirements
- B.S. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or similar engineering degree
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment required
- Ability to work well with all levels of personnel throughout the facility
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices and Continuous Improvement
- Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams, locally and above-site
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- On call for Safety or Quality related production
- Minimal travel up to 10% to attend annual meetings, etc.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of Industrial Safety, Health, and Environmental regulations for jurisdiction
- Project management experience and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
- Familiarity with ERP systems and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
- Certifications such as CSP, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or PMP are a plus.
