Eligible candidates must hold an Indiana Teaching Certificate** to teach the following courses: 7183 Principles of Computing

7351 Topics in Computer Science, 7352 Computer Science, 7353 Computer Science Capstone
 

Purpose of Position

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

 

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or substantial related experience in subject matter.
  2. Indiana teaching certificate as listed above.
  3. Experience is preferred but not necessary for hiring.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Develops and implements plans for the curriculum program assigned and show written evidence of preparation as required.
  2. Prepares lessons that reflect accommodations for individual student differences.
  3. Presents the subject matter according to guidelines established by the Indiana Department of Education, board policies, and administrative regulations.
  4. Plans and uses appropriate instructional/learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect accommodation for individual needs of students assigned.
  5. Works cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students.
  6. Cooperates with other members of the staff in planning and implementing

Instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to state requirements.

  1. Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for teacher aide(s) and/or volunteer(s).
  2. Uses technologies in the teaching/learning process.
  3. Consistently assesses student achievement through formal and informal testing.
  4. Presents a positive role model for students that supports the mission of the school.
  5. Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
  6. Manages student behavior in the classroom and administers discipline according to board policies and administrative regulations.
  7. Establishes and maintains open lines of communication with students and their parents.
  8. Maintains a professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
