POSITION: Head Golf Coach
LOCATION: Ellensburg High School
REPORTS TO: Athletic Director

JOB SUMMARY:

The Head Golf Coach is responsible for leading, organizing, and overseeing all aspects of the high school golf program. The coach will foster a positive and inclusive environment while teaching fundamental golf skills, strategy, mental toughness, and teamwork. The Head Coach will ensure that all student-athletes represent the school and community with integrity, sportsmanship, and pride.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Plan, organize, and conduct all practices and competitions for the golf program.
  
  
• Provide instruction on golf techniques, rules, and strategies appropriate for high school athletes.
  
  
• Promote academic achievement, personal growth, and positive character development among student-athletes.
  
  
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate assistant coaches.
  
  
• Oversee athlete eligibility, program budgets, equipment inventory, and facility use.
  
  
• Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, staff, and administrators.
  
  
• Ensure compliance with district, league, and WIAA rules and regulations.
  
  
• Maintain high standards of safety, care, and sportsmanship.
  
  
• Attend athletic department meetings, training, and professional development sessions.
  
  
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
