Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that customer requirements are met using effective communication among all parties.
- Lead efforts to identify, implement and document profitability improvements.
- Develop annual business plans with accounting and other business partners.
- Metrics driven performance (safety, environmental, quality, production, and cost).
- Develop management employees to improve current performance and anticipate future opportunities.
- Engage wage employees to improve current performance and assist in identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Manage the implementation of a facility expansion including training and staffing of new personnel.
- This position requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or related field; or a minimum of 5 years’ work experience as a manager in plant operations, or another closely related discipline.
- Demonstrates effective leadership, communicates clearly, and consistently acts with a sense of urgency.
- An ideal candidate should possess expertise in cost management, strategic planning, sound business decision-making, project management, and continuous improvement, along with a strong commitment to upholding safety as the corporation’s primary core value.
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies and digital transformation in manufacturing is a plus.
- Hands-on experience managing capital projects, including budgeting, vendor coordination, and implementation of new equipment or infrastructure is preferred.
- Experience directing and supervising a unionized workforce and operations managers is preferred.
