As a Senior Finance Analyst within our Content & Platform Finance team, you will partner closely with the Content & Platform business teams providing insight and analysis to optimise SkyShowtime’s investment in shareholder content and platform cost. The Content team you would business partner manage 90% of our investment into content that drives our service. The Platform team manage not only our underlying service but also drive improvements to our platform covering customer offerings and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clear, accurate and concise financial reporting and analysis of the cost of content to inform decision-making at the highest level in the business
- Evaluating content output and deal structures.
- Clear understanding on content framework agreements and spend commitments, with an ability to advise C-Suite on future cash implications for SkyShowtime.
- Clear understanding of the Platform framework agreements and how this commitment impacts on P&L and Cash while ensuring the Platform roadmap aligns with strategic business goals.
- Work closely with the Commercial Director of Content Programming to set and manage budgets and forecasts for content acquisition across all territories of SkyShowtime.
- Working closely with Directors within platform and platform provider to understand and record related expenditure and understanding monthly trends and variances to expectations.
- Ensuring the strategic aims and growth plans for the entire business are balanced with the financial implications of content title selection.
- Developing robust financial reporting for content spend and oversee accounting treatment for content and content-related contracts.
- Leading on content ingest costs, partnering with Platform Provider to pace costs and budgets accordingly.
Identify opportunities to improve processes. Prioritise work effectively. Enable the delivery of high-quality work at pace.
What you'll bring:
- You will be a newly qualified finance professional with ideally up to 2 years experience of working in a high performing commercial finance team. Experience working within a Content or Streaming business is useful but not mandatory.
- Insightful financial analysis which creates value, demonstrates good judgement, presentational and influencing skills
- Clear communication skills, both verbal and written. A great communicator who can cultivate strong cross-functional relationships and communicate effectively with internal teams.
- A proactive approach, looking to challenge the status quo and look for improvements.
- A curiosity to learn, ability to work at pace, strong eye for detail and knowing your numbers.
- An ability to work independently within a controlled and process-driven environment.
Where you'll work:
- We operate a hybrid working model, with the team office based 3 days per week. To maximise the benefits of team collaboration we ask team members to be in the office on Mondays & Thursdays (with flexibility on the 3rd office workday).
- Your primary base will be in Osterley, on the Sky campus, a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Free shuttle buses are available, running to and from Osterley, Chiswick Park, Gunnersbury, Acton Town and Ealing Broadway tube stations. On-site parking, bike shelters and showers/changing facilities are also available.
