MG+M The Law Firm (MG+M) has an immediate opening for a Legal Calendar Clerk in any of our four California offices.

The Legal Calendar Clerk plays a critical role in managing litigation deadlines and court appearances across California. This position ensures accurate docketing and scheduling using firm software and supports attorneys and staff in maintaining compliance with court rules and deadlines.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Track all legal and filing deadlines using firm software, Milana.
  • Review pleadings and enter entries and deadlines into Milana.
  • Maintain the appearance calendar; docket urgent E-Serve and faxed documents related to appearances.
  • Docket hearings, discovery, and all information related to pleadings.
  • Confirm daily and weekly appearances statewide.
  • Manage and review records; enter schedules or deadlines into Milana.
  • Disseminate incoming filings to case teams promptly.
  • Collaborate closely with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff.
  • Generate reports for appearances and deadlines.

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one to three years of experience in a litigation administrative or docketing role.
  • Proven experience managing court deadlines and compliance with California and Federal court rules; docketing experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Lexis Nexis/File & Serve Express, PACER, ECF, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, Dropbox, ALN, and Excel. Knowledge of Aderant and File Site is a plus.
  • Attendance & Punctuality: Consistently arrive at work and meetings on time; ensure responsibilities are covered when absent.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with attorneys, paralegals, and legal administrative assistants. 
  • Organization: Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. 
  • Customer service: Respond promptly to attorney and client requests for service and assistance; meet commitments.
  • Dependability: Follow instructions, complete tasks on time, work independently, and commit to the hours necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Teamwork: Contribute to building a positive team spirit and support the success of colleagues.
