Overall responsibilities and duties:
The Production Supervisor is a line manager of 15 to 25 operators on the same shift. He/she ensures quality standards are maintained and monitors line performance.
The main missions of the role are:
1. Make sure QCD indicators reflect customer expectations.
2. Define, together with the supervisors of the other shifts and the UAP manager, QCDP targets for the GAPs (improvement versus actual situation): ppm, pph, TRS, absenteeism, number of accidents, improvement ideas…
3. Monitor performance during the shift and report accurate data at the end of the shift.
4. Manage resources to reach results: adapt headcount to volume, etc.
5. React in case of a problem: take care of immediate containment, call support functions, build corrective action plans.
6. Ensure transparent timely communication with UAP manager and internal customers.
7. Arrive before start of shift to ensure transfer of all information from the supervisor of previous shift.
8. Participate to UAP Top 5 and report line performance, successes and issues as well as action initiated.
9. Responsible for the quality of the product.
10. Responsible for Health, Safety and Environmental.
11. Other tasks assigned according to the position and company needs.
12. Drive actions for improvement:
a. Know team problems, seek feedbacks.
c. Drive teamwork and problem-solving activities, lead Problem Solving Groups and workshops (5S, Hoshin, TPM, SMED, 7 Quality Basics…)
e. Ensure audits of standardized work are conducted by GAP leaders daily and ensure corrective actions are taking place.
f. Audits the respect of standardized work once a week with each GAP Leader
g. Submit/implement at least two Continuous improvement ideas per month.
i. Participate in division level workshops to test the new lean concept or advanced tools.
13. Commitment to the highest ethical standards and willingness to adhere to Faurecia’s Code of Ethics and Code of Management
14. Assure daily management.
a. Permanent presence on the Shop floor: daily contact with all team members, close management of the lines
b. Manage headcount: plan the day before people allocation for the next day, plan also on a weekly basis.
c. Coach GAP Leaders and team members in how to perform their role.
d. Support and help to fix problems.
e. Ensure discipline and rigor (work wear, break times, working hours…)
f. Ensure the respect of safety instructions, policies and procedures.
15. Development of the team
a. Participate in selection and recruitment of staff.
c. Build training plan to increase team autonomy; ensure training and coaching of team members.
d. Manage annual performance interviews for all team members.
e. Plan development of the people (validation and support from UAP manager and Human Resources Manager when appropriate): training, job evolution
f. Validation of polyvalence and poly-competence
h. Ensure proper flow of information to and from the team: top 5 with GAP Leaders, regular information meetings, rapid cascade of critical information and of messages from management.
Your profile and competencies to succeed
Minimum education level:
- Minimum education level: High School diploma or equivalent
Professional Experience:
- Previous leadership experience preferred.
- Minimum 1 year working within a production environment.
Skills and competencies:

- Steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, gloves, ear protection, and safety anti-cut sleeves required in production area due to physical hazards from moving equipment, machine parts, and product.
