Grief Counselor
Part-time - 20hrs/week

SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: The Grief Counselor is responsible for providing counseling, education and support to bereaved adult and child clients who are coping with serious illness and/or death of a loved one through phone calls, individual and group counseling sessions, and group support. This person will serve as a resource on grief and anticipatory grief related to coping with a serious illness for other HopeWest staff and members of our community. The Grief Counselor will provide ‘grief in the workplace’ assistance and other education to community agencies and businesses who are dealing with issues related to serious illness or grief as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree in a counseling field and/or social work is required.
- Must hold and maintain an active, unrestricted Colorado license, such as Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC or LPCC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW or CSWC), or Licensed Marriage/Family Therapist (LMFT or MFTC) prior to first day of work if not already obtained at time of job offer.
- At least one (1) year of experience in counseling and grief work.
- At least one (1) year of experience working with adults and older adults in a related setting.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Able to work in a variety of environments.
COMPETENCIES & REQUIREMENTS:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook 365.
- Communicates effectively with others, particularly with those experiencing difficult situations.
- Ability to speak confidently in front of a group.
- Facilitation of groups of individuals and or teams.
- Time management.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to client care.
Pay & Benefits:
- $35.00 - $39.00/Hour, plus any shift differentials that may apply.
- Premium pay for Licensed Clinical Social Worker and/or bilingual fluency
- Mileage reimbursement of 65cents/mile for work related driving
