Adler Pelzer Group - a growing global Tier One supplier of Acoustic and Soft Trim products to the automotive industry is seeking for a driven Lab Technician to join the team of the North American HQ in Troy, MI.
The Lab Technician is responsible for conducting annual material certification tests, DVP&R tests and other product related tests to support Plant Quality, Product Engineering, Material Research, Purchasing and other internal / external customers through efficient / effective implementation and utilization of laboratory resources.
Responsibilities of the Lab Technician:
- Operate and maintain various testing and research equipment in material testing lab.
- Perform required tests (product approvals, data collections, material developments, etc.) on raw and finished material and calculate results.
- Prepare standard samples for materials property testing, including physical and basic chemical tests.
- Ability to understand the physical basis for and expected results of various materials property tests.
- Collect and report lab test data in appropriate form.
- Responsible for timely and accurate reporting test data to the manager/supervisor.
- Responsible for equipment preventive maintenance and in-house verification.
- Ordering equipment and supply for material lab.
- Required to adhere to ISO17025 requirements.
- Required to implement/follow established standard of service, policies, procedures and instructions in their work.
- Assist in maintaining A2LA accreditation.
- Required to adhere to applicable ISO 14001 and Health and Safety requirements.
- May be required to work overtime.
- May be required to cross-train other personnel.
- Required to perform housekeeping duties in the lab.
Note: This section is not inclusive. Other duties are assigned as necessary to support team goals.
Preferred Skills of the Lab Technician:
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a lab environment.
- Knowledge of MS Office.
- Knowledge of various types of lab equipment, test procedures, and specifications.
- Good communication skills.

- Salary range is $55,000 - $60,000. Specific salary is commensurate with experience and factors such as relevant experience, education, certifications and licenses, skills, and training.
