Natrium Reactor Product Development Manager
TerraPower is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Reactor Product Development Manager to lead the development of new reactor products, systems, and equipment associated with the program. This position will focus on developing the basis for competitiveness of the reactor technology through cost reduction initiatives on Natrium projects, supporting improvements to the economic viability of the Natrium reactor lines, and ensuring the Natrium reactor technology is well positioned within the nuclear technology market. This position works closely with the Natrium Product Development Manager, VP of Business Development, VP of Commercial Development and the Natrium Leadership team to ensure that the development of Natrium reactor technology meets the needs of our future customers and the corporate strategy. This position collaborates with the Natrium Leadership team to ensure that Natrium Reactor Product information provided to Commercial and Business Development teams is accurate and integrated appropriately. The Reactor Product Development Manager will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the development of technology with a significant global impact, working at the forefront of nuclear innovation, and will collaborate with world-class engineers and business leaders to bring groundbreaking reactor designs and related products to market.
Responsibilities
• Define and champion the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Natrium Reactor Technology, aligning with the TerraPower's overall strategic objectives
• Effectively prioritize product features and development efforts based on strategic value, technical feasibility, and resource constraints. Make informed decisions on trade-offs to optimize product delivery
• Communicate reactor product vision, strategy, and progress effectively to internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, investors, partners, and potential customers
• Develop strategies to enhance cost competitiveness of the Natrium Demonstration Plant and subsequent Natrium plants.
• Support commercial development of Natrium plants and services.
• Participate in design decisions to ensure that cost competitiveness is considered and evaluated
• Evaluate Natrium reactor cost drivers against other competitive offerings (i.e. PWRs, SMRs, Advanced Reactors)
• Attract, develop and retain qualified team members.
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the product development process, exploring new technologies and methodologies to enhance product performance and efficiency.
• Interface with outside agencies where required to support Natrium reactor product development
Key Qualifications and Skills
• B.S. degree in Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical, or other relevant engineering discipline from an accredited university.
• 10+ years direct experience in nuclear industry and 3+ years of supervisory experience
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and project management skills
• Experience in design and licensing of advanced nuclear reactors.
• Demonstrated skill in development of product strategies and narratives in a fast paced competitive environment.
• Advanced experience and knowledge of estimating engineering, fabrication, and construction.
• Strong understanding of the nuclear regulations, plant work control processes, operational design philosophies, and integrated plant operations during normal and off-normal events.
• Experience working to quality standards on design activities, such as ASME NQA-1.
• Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills, including periodic training development and presentation.
• Attention to detail and aspiration for technical excellence.
• Candidate must be a high potential, self-starter and possess ability to coordinate and lead efforts with minimal direction.
• Ability to handle projects that include many competing objectives and design constraints, with ability to resolve conflicts between objectives.
• Ability to work on tasks that require a multi-disciplinary approach.
• The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.

Salary Range Level 13: $194,197 - $279,158
*Typically, our employee salaries are within .90 – 1.0 of the mid-point of the posted salary band. Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected individual’s qualifications and experience. This range is specific to Washington State.
