The maintenance planner is responsible for the planning and scheduling of the site maintenance and repair activities with the goal of achieving higher equipment reliability. The maintenance planner develops work requests/orders and arranges work activity with the solar maintenance manager. The position plans, schedules and assures that parts are available for maintenance activities, scheduled outages as well as large projects for the site facilities. Work is performed with supervision and direction from the VP of solar operations and solar general manager.
Responsibilities
- Has the overall responsibility for planning and scheduling the maintenance and troubleshooting activities in coordination with the solar operations group.
- Work with operations staff to assure preventive maintenance is performed as specified in the program.
- Work with solar maintenance manager in the development of the scope of maintenance activity for major projects, contract services and project activities.
- Work closely with the solar maintenance manager, business coordinator and the supply chain group to assure effective purchase of required parts and equipment, inventory and non-inventory.
- Facilitate cycle counts and recordkeeping of materials and parts withdrawn out of the warehouse for the daily and weekly planned activities.
- Adhere to, support and enforce all company safety and environmental policies set forth by BHE Renewables.
- Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate or technical degree; relevant certification or equivalent work experience. (Typically three years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess an associate or technical degree.)
- Six to eight years of related experience.
- Must possess strong leadership skills in order to prioritize, plan and schedule work so that a safe, efficient plan can be put into place.
- Competent in giving oral and written instruction that is understandable by all subordinates. Knowledge of applicable government regulations.
- Proficient knowledge of personal computer software applications, including spreadsheet, word processing and database.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret periodicals, procedures, regulations, blue prints, schematics and process and instrument diagrams.
- Ability to write routine reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Able to conceptualize and develop creative alternatives to problem resolutions. Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with abstract and concrete concepts.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
- A valid US driver’s license is required.
