Knowesis is seeking a highly skilled Mobile Device Management (MDM) Administrator to support the DoD Office of the Inspector General (OIG) in delivering secure, reliable, and optimized mobile device services. This role is critical to ensuring seamless mobile operations across a diverse device ecosystem, enforcing security policies, and managing the full lifecycle of mobile infrastructure and applications.
To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess U.S. Citizenship without the need for sponsorship, both now and in the future. Applicants without proof of U.S. Citizenship will not be considered due to the position’s security clearance requirements.
The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
MDM Platform Administration
- Install, configure, and maintain the DoD OIG MDM platform
- Manage user accounts, monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system integrations
- Coordinate with third-party vendors to support mobile device operations
- Provide 24x7 support for Priority 1 incidents (e.g., service outages)
Device Enrollment & Provisioning
- Implement and automate device enrollment processes
- Configure and troubleshoot provisioning workflows for authorized smartphones, tablets, and accessories
Configuration & Policy Management
- Enforce compliance policies, device configuration standards, and group management protocols
- Support role-based access models and secure enterprise content delivery
- Distribute approved software and apps over-the-air across mixed OS environments
Mobile Security & Compliance
- Advise on mobile security policies and standards
- Implement and enforce security protocols across managed devices
- Monitor device usage, detect threats, and remotely wipe or lock compromised devices
- Secure data, applications, communications, and network access
- Enforce authorized Wi-Fi/VPN configurations and data leakage prevention measures
- Support audits and ensure encryption standards are met
Mobile Application Management
- Recommend and manage mobile applications for the DoD OIG environment
- Deploy, update, and retire applications across major platforms
- Enforce whitelist/blacklist policies and configure app permissions
- Monitor app performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize user experience
- Manage application store compliance and auto-policy enforcement
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in mobile device management and enterprise mobility
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field. An associate degree combined with 7+ years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
- Expertise in MDM platforms (e.g., Microsoft Intune, VMware Workspace ONE, MobileIron)
- Strong understanding of mobile OS environments (iOS, Android)
- Experience with mobile application deployment, security, and lifecycle management
- Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity standards and mobile compliance frameworks
- Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-security environment
- Minimum 9 years’ experience in helpdesk/desktop support roles to include incident management, problem management, service request fulfillment, remote troubleshooting, hardware and software support, and customer service.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting federal contracts or DoD environments
- Advanced certifications or graduate coursework in MDM platforms, mobile security (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator), enterprise mobility, or systems administration.
- Knowledge of enterprise mobility trends and emerging technologies
