The Manager, Ops FP&A will be responsible for supporting typical finance rhythms including month-end close, quarterly financial planning, annual budgeting, standards development, and strategy. This individual will be a key contributor in operating cadences utilized to enhance business decision-making at the site level such as leading manufacturing financial reviews, driving performance, evaluating decision-making, and streamlining processes. Additionally, the Manager, Ops FP&A will have oversight into the professional development of the Sr. Analyst- Operations FP&A.

Responsibilities

  • Be the finance business partner to the Trumbull team & Paragard team to drive performance and improve decision-making
  • Support the Director of Global Manufacturing and VP of Operations with insightful financial analysis
  • Take an active role in development of Sr. Analyst including training, knowledge-sharing, goal setting, professional skills
  • Manage the annual budget process, quarterly forecast preparation, and development of accurate standard costs in accordance with CSI timelines for site of ownership
  • Support the Global Long Range Strategic Financial Planning as required 
  • Work cross functionally with commercial and demand planning to understand forecasted demand, plant capacity, and inventory levels to execute production plan
  • Support monthly close process and functional management reviews to ensure accurate financial reporting 
  • Partner with US Accounting team to improve communication flow and accrual processes
  • Analyze variances to standards, identify root cause, and execute remediation actions
  • Drive analysis that supports management decision-making, such as capital expenditure, return on investment, cost saving initiatives, new product development, inventory trends, Absorption, KPIs, what-ifs etc. 
  • Provide accurate & timely management reports to lead operating cadences for Trumbull
  • Develop and implement process improvements to streamline functional activities
  • Support management ad-hoc projects and analysis
  • Is an integrated member of the CSI Global Operations FP&A team and the local site management team

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience within a manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of standard cost is a must
  • Proactive individual with an aptitude to learn who strives for continuous improvement
  • Ability to analyze results, summarize underlying drivers, provide interpretation of results to management, and execute necessary actions
  • Direct, hands-on experience in creating, tracking and controlling actual, forecast and budget metrics
  • A strong mindset who isn’t afraid to challenge the norm and think outside the box
  • Ability to drive actions to completion in a fast-paced work environment 
  • Experience of being a strong business partner to multiple functional leaders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Broad technical accounting expertise, including good working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Ability to work with those at all levels of the organization
  • Strong acumen and experience within an ERP system (Navision, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) 
  • Strong acumen and experience with a Financial Consolidation system (HFM, Adaptive Planning or similar)
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Teams skills (pivot tables, lookups, sumifs, graphs/charts, etc)

 

Work Environment:

  • This role is based in an office environment with travel as required to visit other Cooper sites
  • Multi-cultural environment with global interactions
  • Individual is expected to be on site 5 days per week to support a manufacturing site

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years FP&A experience within manufacturing operations.  Related experience within accounting function is a plus.

 

Education:

  • B.S. Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field 

Travel: 

  • Minimal travel of 2x-3x per year to other Cooper locations
