JOB SUMMARY:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains body-worn cameras and associated equipment for warranty and other manufacture services
- Receives, manages, and maintains digital evidence in compliance with public disclosure, retention and privacy laws specific to such evidence
- Creates and verifies proper event category designations and retention schedules for storage of digital evidence. Identifies and corrects improperly categorized or labeled digital evidence
- Processes public records requests as required by Florida Public Records Disclosure Laws in compliance with public record exemptions and privacy laws
- Train users in the proper use, care, calibration, performance and equipment protocols, including the evidence management system. Update users of any changes, updates, or revisions in software, equipment and policy
- Receives, maintains, and downloads digital formal statements. Transfers statements for transcription and ensures the prosecution/investigating parties receive the finalized product
- Receives, manages and maintains 911 and police radio dispatch records in compliance with public disclosure and retention laws
- Receives, manages and maintains unmanned aircraft system (DRONES) digital evidence in compliance with public disclosure and public retention laws
- Networks with multiple agencies including, but not limited to, the State Attorney’s Office, the City Attorney’s Office, the Broward County Digital Evidence Unit, as well as other investigating agencies
- Assists prosecutors in ensuring that all discovery requests are fulfilled
- Assists management with special projects; completes work detail forms on completed projects
- Performs information technology related tasks and various administrative tasks as directed
- Must effectively and positively represent the City in delivering and performing work with colleagues and clients, irrespective of gender, race, religion, age, disability, political affiliation or belief, or sexual orientation.
- Must establish and maintain effective and professional relationships with work colleagues, supervisors and managers.

Position Duties
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Valid Driver’s License: With proof of automobile insurance
- Background Check: Must have an acceptable background record
- Driving Abstract: Must have an acceptable driving record
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of business English and arithmetic.
- Knowledge of departmental and municipal rules, regulations, polices, and procedures.
- Knowledge of modern office terminology, methods, practices, and procedures.
- Working knowledge of public records law.
- Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, superiors, and the general public.
- Ability to access, utilize, and maintain computerized systems and equipment, such as body worn camera equipment, including managing video retrieval and upload of video/audio files.
- Ability to make accurate arithmetic calculations.
- Ability to interpret and apply established policies and procedures.
- Ability to communicate information tactfully and impartially.
- Ability to maintain complex records and prepare reports.
- Ability to develop, install, and communicate clerical procedures from general instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and professional relationships with work colleagues, supervisors, managers and the public.
- Skill in the operation of modern office equipment.
Minimum Qualifications

Other Qualifications

In addition, the applicant will be required to undergo a medical examination, which may include a drug screening, prior to appointment.
EMPLOYMENT OF RELATIVES: The City of Hollywood has an Ordinance which regulates the employment of relatives of City employees. Effective January 28, 2008, a relative may only be hired under the following additional conditions:
- The relative must have competed in an appropriate examination process as determined by Human Resources and be placed on a civil service eligibility list;
- The relative must be among the top three ranked candidates available on the certified eligibility list unless expanded by the Civil Service Board;
- The Department or Office Director and the Director, Human Resources must demonstrate that it is in the best interests of the City of Hollywood to hire the relative of a public officer or employee.
As of 12/15/2005 the City will require all newly hired employees to sign an affidavit affirming non-usage of tobacco or tobacco products within the last year prior to submission of application and will continue to be a non-user of tobacco products throughout employment with the City of Hollywood.
