Scope
As a Security Engineer specializing in Threat Correlation and Tool Optimization, you will serve as the technical subject matter expert for improving the fidelity, prioritization, and integration of vulnerability data across a multi-cloud and hybrid enterprise environment. This role is focused on optimizing inputs from a wide range of scanning and detection tools—including endpoint, network, and cloud-native platforms—and enriching them with contextual data such as threat intelligence, asset criticality, and exploitability indicators.
You will work across industry standard tools and technologies, and external threat/risk platforms (e.g., BitSight, Recorded Future), as well as integrate findings into broader SIEM, SOAR, and asset inventory systems. Your work will directly impact how the organization correlates vulnerability data with emerging threats and prioritizes remediation to reduce enterprise risk.
Over time, this role offers growth opportunities into advanced threat simulation, adversary emulation, and red or purple team engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize and tune vulnerability scanning tools across hybrid infrastructure and multi-cloud platforms
- Correlate vulnerabilities with threat intelligence, exploitability trends, and asset value to inform risk-based prioritization
- Ingest and normalize data from industry standard tool sets and third-party threat/risk providers
- Enrich vulnerability data using SIEM, CMDB, asset tagging, and threat intel platforms
- Design and maintain custom dashboards and views that communicate exposure trends to both technical and executive audiences
- Develop scripts or pipelines to automate data correlation, suppression logic, and enrichment workflows
- Collaborate with threat modeling and architecture teams to identify systemic weaknesses or exploitable paths
- Contribute to threat-informed defense initiatives, including purple teaming or red team-aligned enrichment
- Identify detection gaps and propose configuration changes, hardening measures, or new controls
- Partner with the VulnOps Lead and Remediation Engineer to ensure prioritization and remediation strategies are aligned
- Support purple team activities and contribute to red team-aligned enrichment and detection logic
