DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee all aspects of facility production utilizing 300+ employees operating a multi-shift food and dietary supplement manufacturing operation producing at multiple sites
- Ensure that Continuous Improvement (COI)/Lean concepts and techniques are utilized throughout the manufacturing operations. Set aggressive operational efficiency targets and build plans to achieve them
- Establish and maintain department standards for productivity, reliability, and accuracy.
- Develop ongoing strategies for reducing cost, and time, while maximizing quality.
- Monitor and report daily production results, material usage, waste, and downtime.
- Coordinates with quality control to maintain quality standards; takes appropriate corrective measures to resolve deficiencies.
- Forecast staffing needs to meet peak demands of the business and staff team accordingly; train, motivate, coach, reward, and discipline employees being supervised; resolve personnel issues.
- Perform required administrative tasks; prepare required reports and correspondence.
- Identifie opportunities for inner departmental and interdepartmental process improvements and actualizes them.
- Create KPIs and measurable goals using the SMART format for key tasks and deliverables for each department and develop plans to attain them.
- Maintain/lead safety programs and all required safety training for employees.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- College Degree required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a cGMP food or dietary supplement manufacturing facility (10-15 years preferred)
- Solid knowledge of food production/manufacturing practices and procedures, including HACCP and cGMPs
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating teammates
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing
priorities
- Excellent judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
- Bilingual (Spanish) required
- Experienced with manufacturing software/ systems, familiarity with Deacom a plus
- Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds, with strong interpersonal skills
- Continuous improvement skill, utilizing lean methodologies, a plus
