Warming Center Team Lead

The Warming Center Team Lead is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Warming Center in collaboration with the Manager of Care Coordination and Community Engagement. This role provides on-site leadership and guidance to staff, ensures a safe and welcoming environment for guests, and helps maintain effective communication between frontline staff and management. The Team Lead also serves as part of the leadership on-call rotation to ensure the Warming Center is able to open promptly and operate effectively during assigned days.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the Warming Center in collaboration with the Manager.
  • Provide support and guidance to staff in managing crises, including responding      when not scheduled if needed.
  • Serve      as part of the leadership on-call rotation (shared between Manager and two      Team Leads), responsible for center openings and responding to calls      throughout the entire assigned day, including evenings/overnight.
  • Monitor      and communicate supply needs to the Manager to ensure adequate inventory      and preparedness.
  • Assist      in training and onboarding staff in Warming Center operations, policies,      and best practices.
  • Promote      a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed environment for guests and staff.
  • Act as      a role model in using verbal de-escalation and crisis intervention      techniques.
  • Support      the development of community resource connections for guests and staff.
  • Carry      out other reasonable tasks and responsibilities as requested by      management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience      in human services or working with vulnerable populations.
  • Demonstrated      skills in verbal de-escalation and crisis management.
  • Familiarity      with trauma-informed approaches to care and engagement.
  • Knowledge      of local/community resources to support guest needs.
  • Strong      interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability      to work flexible hours, including evenings and overnights, as part of the      on-call leadership rotation.
Salary Description
$28/Hour
