Fortem Technologies is currently seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to join our Finance Team. As Senior Revenue Accountant your primary function will be to ensure sales orders are organized and prepared in accordance with contractual obligations, billings are processed in an accurate and timely manner, and receipts are processed promptly. Responsibilities will also include the analysis and comparison of inventory and cost transactions recorded in different accounting systems, as well as the reconciliation of certain G/L accounts. The position requires a solid understanding of and seasoned experience with contractual billing functions, preferably involving government defense contracts, along with some experience with revenue recognition (ASC 606).
- Fully owning and performing the billing function, including reviewing contracts, setting up sales orders, processing and distributing invoices, and posting customer receipts.
- Closely interacting with Shipping, Production, Project Management, and various Engineering teams to accurately and timely initiate billing processes.
- Processing billings within various customer portals, as needed, including the Wide Area Workflow (“WAWF”) system used by the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency.
- Analyzing billing transactions to accurately allocate different revenue elements between gross, discounted, and deferred revenue accounting categories.
- Performing the analysis and processing of deferred revenue transactions in accordance with ASC 606.
- Performing customer account adjustments.
- Managing customer collections, as needed.
- Analyzing and comparing various inventory and cost amounts to ensure transactions recorded in different accounting systems are in synch.
- Ensuring shipping transactions billed also reflect part movement within cost of goods.
- Assisting with the monthly close process and account reconciliations.
- Assisting with budget preparation and analysis.
- Assisting with monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial analyses.
- Identifying and finding solutions to discrepancies in financial records.
- Consistently complying with all policies and procedures.
- Helping identify and implement process improvements.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Minimum 5 years experience in accounting or related field.
- Solid, seasoned experience with contractual invoicing and billing is required. Strong preference will be given to candidates who have a background in government defense contracting.
- Preference will be given to candidates with job-cost and inventory cost accounting experience.
- Proficiency in Office 365 Suite.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.

- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Desired Qualifications
- Experience in QuickBooks and/or Global Shop Solutions accounting systems.
- Experience with FAR, Government Accounting, and Government Contracting preferred.
