Rotating 12hour shifts -7d ays/7 nights in a four-week rotation
2 weekends per month
Starting rate of $2,811 gross per week, including penalties and overtime + other allowances as applicable
The Role
Our Ridge street site services many customers in a contract manufacturing capacity focused on packaged, natural and processed cheeses. These include the renown Bega cheese blocks- mild, tasty, and vintage, shredded and cubed cheese, natural slices, parmesan, colby, mozzarella and burger slice cheeses and an exciting new Lactose and Dairy Free range.

We’re seeking a proactive and reliable Mechanical Technician to help keep our production equipment running at peak performance. This is a hands-on role where your expertise will directly impact safety, quality, and efficiency.
Please note: This role operates on a rotating roster, including days, nights, and weekends — perfect for those who enjoy variety and flexibility.
Responsibilities
Carrying out preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and safety
Responding to breakdowns quickly and effectively to minimise downtime.
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and reliability programs
Supporting new equipment installations and providing technical input during commissioning
Maintaining high standards of safe work practices and compliance
About you
Cert III in Mechanical Engineering – Fitting & Turning (welding and fabrication experience highly valued)
Experience in Food Manufacturing or FMCG environments is preferred
Additional tickets, such as Confined Space, Boiler Ticket, and Working at Heights, are a bonus
Comfortable using MEX or similar CMMS systems, with solid communication and teamwork skills
A positive, can-do attitude, reliability, and a strong team spirit
