Your role:
The Manager, Financial Processes is a key advocate for Global Relay’s financial systems and processes focusing on streamlining, improvement, adoption, and modernization. You are the driving force in demonstrating to the Finance & Accounting team the art of the possible, continually improving operational lead times and adding value to users and stakeholders experience with financial processes and systems. Reporting to the VP, Finance, you operate at the cross-section of the Finance & Accounting and Information/Enterprise Systems teams. The Manager, Financial Processes utilizes their knowledge of Global Relay’s financial processes, paired with a deep understanding of its NetSuite ERP ecosystem to advocate for, implement, and monitor financial process enhancements and new technology adoption. You are key contributor to the development of the roadmap for financial system improvements and lead the optimization of the financial close cycle. This role also plays a key part in advocating for strong data governance of Global Relay’s financial information.
Your responsibilities:
- Drive technology implementation and process improvement projects of the Finance & Accounting team, coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders such as Information/Enterprise Systems and external consultants where applicable
- Lead the communication and operationalization of process and technology changes, liaising both internally within Finance & Accounting and with other stakeholders
- Strategize and champion initiatives for system automation or enhancement, including improvements to existing technologies/workflows as well as identifying potential new enhancements, technologies and/or integrations
- Collaborate with teams across the organization to ensure successful and timely completion of project and process improvement/technology roll-out initiatives
- Act as a champion and leader for process and system excellence within Global Relay through engaging Finance & Accounting team members to identify pain points, inconsistencies, redundancies and gaps in existing processes
- Leverage deep familiarity with NetSuite ERP and other technologies to help implement standardized and optimized workflows and process documentation across different areas of the Finance & Accounting team, working cross-functionally with Information Systems and other teams as necessary
- Own and coordinate the performance of testing at all stages of development for processes and system changes, including data validation and training to end users
- Govern data integrity, consulting with appropriate stakeholders to ensure that data quality and security is contemplated and maintained through all process and system changes
- Support the adoption and roll-out of NetSuite Analytics Warehouse (NSAW) analytic tools, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and metrics, with a focus on data quality and data governance initiatives underpinning NSAW activities
About you:
- A minimum of three to five years’ experience in an accounting department utilizing NetSuite ERP and other cloud-based technologies (e.g. Salesforce, SAP Concur, Zip, Tipalti, Bill, Confluence/JIRA)
- Proven track record of process design and improvement within accounting systems and processes, with a focus on enhancements that leverage automation and reduce process lead times
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or information systems
- Chartered Professional Accountant or equivalent professional accountant designation is an asset
- Familiarity with multiple accounting frameworks (ASPE, IFRS, US GAAP)
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and time-manage
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Expert level Excel proficiency, with advanced knowledge of Word and PowerPoint
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team with minimal supervision
Compensation:
Global Relay advertises the pay range for this role in compliance with British Columbia’s pay transparency laws. Individual pay rates are determined by evaluating factors such as expertise, skills, education, and professional background.
The range below reflects the expected annual base salary, which is only one element of our comprehensive total rewards package designed to reflect our company pay philosophy, culture and values.
