The role
To provide hands-on technical expertise in delivering Operational Technology (OT) & IoT asset management initiatives, for digital water meters, IoT devices and platform. The role involves maintaining, analysing, integrating and improving existing business practices, standards, processes, technologies, systems, and procedures.
Your key responsibilities
- Applying asset management methodology, root cause analysis (RCA), diagnosis to manage the IOT devices
- Manage authentication and orchestration across IoT environments, shared infrastructure, remote clients, field devices, communications, and industrial protocols.
- Assess and securely on board all new IoT devices onto YVW device management platform
- Deliver Operational Technology projects including upgrades/renewals, on its requirements, benefits and project.
- Provide technical services in the development and integration of key network operational management systems, including SCADA, DMS, Big Data, IoT device management platform, Jasper, Octaplant, Data Analytics, digital meters/IoT devices, communication systems and IoT related operational platforms/systems.
- Analyse, develop and plan improvement strategies for operational technology related services including delivery, technology, security, data and data analytics to ensure all effort and investment is aligned with YVW’s corporate objectives, regulatory compliance requirements, industry standards and customer expectations.
- Consult and deliver technical work on the alignment of IT to OT initiatives, tactical and dynamic needs, standardising technology policies, practices and procedures involving IT and OT components (i.e. IT/OT convergence).
- Hands on testing and roll out of IoT device, platform upgrades, patches
- Align IT and IoT environments through standardised policies, technical practices, and procedures to enable secure IT/OT convergence.
- Embed and maintain cybersecurity controls and guidelines across all OT activities, ensuring compliance with industry and organisational standards.
What we’re looking for
- Tertiary qualifications in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline - mandatory
- Demonstrated experience in the deployment and management of IoT devices, headend systems, and communications platforms.
- Strong skills in root cause analysis and problem solving, with a broad knowledge of industrial control systems and IoT technologies.
- Experience or capability in programming, data management, and database administration.
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity standards in IoT environments.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems (ideally Aveva EcoStruxure GeoSCADA Expert/ClearSCADA) and Operational Historian platforms (such as Aveva OSI PI Historian) – desirable
