Are you passionate about technical operations and hands-on problem solving? If so, we’re looking for a Technical Coordinator to join our team in Newcastle on a Permanent basis.

This role places you at the heart of daily port operations — where your technical know-how and practical approach help keep our vessels running safely and efficiently. You’ll combine hands-on coordination with proactive problem-solving, working closely with the Technical Superintendent, crews, and technical teams to maintain high performance and drive continuous improvement across our Newcastle operations.

How You’ll Make a Difference

Reporting to the Port Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Support the Port team in daily vessel and shore maintenance planning, contractor engagement, and short-term maintenance execution.
  •  Act as the key contact for technical matters, assist with all deliverables, and ensure timely reporting of mechanical issues or defects.
  • Manage requisitions, purchases, deliveries, and procurement meetings, while maintaining data collection and analysis for vessel operations and maintenance.
  • Oversee warehouse and yard coordination, parts provisioning, and management of shore-based infrastructure, with strong crew engagement.
  • Handle general office administration, budgeting awareness, and prepare weekly/monthly reports and other duties as assigned by management.
  • Champion safety and compliance by following established systems, licences, and company procedures.

What You’ll Bring

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Mechanical trades knowledge and/or previous experience in a mechanical trades position
  • Proven computer literate with competency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel);
  • Excellent time management skills;
  • The ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment, understand objectives and deliver results;
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Ability to multi-task, adapt to changing priorities and prioritise workloads;
  • High attention to detail and accuracy of work; and
