Are you a detail-oriented problem solver who loves turning ideas into precision-engineered parts? At Empower Manufacturing, we’re looking for a Lead CNC Programmer / Process Engineer to help us continue delivering exceptional quality and performance in every component we produce.

In this role, you’ll take customer prints and bring them to life through 3D modeling, advanced CNC programming, and process optimization. You’ll collaborate across the organization to create machining strategies that are both efficient and accurate—while driving continuous improvement throughout our operations.

Work Schedule:

· 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

· Monday - Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm. Friday: 8:00am - 2:30pm

What You’ll Do

· Turn Prints into Precision: Create 3D models from customer drawings using SolidWorks and generate CNC programs in Mastercam.

· Program for Results: Focus primarily on CNC lathe programming (80–90%) with some CNC horizontal and vertical mill programming (10–20%).

· Optimize Processes: Develop and refine machining process plans, tooling strategies, and setup methods.

· Drive Improvement: Evaluate and revise CNC programs to reduce cycle times, improve quality, and increase efficiency.

· Engineer Smarter Solutions: Design and implement tooling and fixture solutions to support effective and repeatable CNC program execution.

· Validate and Troubleshoot: Conduct program trials and simulations, identify machining issues, and make adjustments to improve yield and efficiency.

· Collaborate and Support: Partner with production, sales, customer service, and quality teams to ensure every job runs smoothly.

· Lead and Educate: Mentor machinists and programmers on CNC programming fundamentals, setup practices, and process optimization.

· Champion Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives that improve programming, tooling utilization, and overall machining productivity.

Requirements

What You’ll Bring

Education & Experience:

o Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering preferred.

o 5-10 years of experience in CNC programming, process engineering, or precision machining.

Technical Expertise:

o Proficiency in CAD/CAM software—SolidWorks and Mastercam preferred

o Strong working knowledge of G-code/M-code and multi-axis CNC operations.

o Solid understanding of GD&T and the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.

o Hands-on knowledge of CNC machining, tooling, and manufacturing processes (machinist background a plus).

Professional Skills:

o Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

o Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and collaborate across departments.

o Commitment to accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Physical Requirements:

o Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods.

o Occasional bending, stooping, and lifting required.

o Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
