The Parkway Maintenance Crew Leader is responsible for providing leadership and direction to Parkway Grounds Maintenance personnel in the performance of their duties. This is a working Crew Leader position and must maintain professionalism leading maintenance tasks within the community.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the pruning, trimming, weeding, mowing, edging, blowing and general maintenance of all customers
• Responsible for daily safety checks
• Provides call out assistance to Parkway Maintenance on an on-call rotation
• Applies chemicals and/or fertilizers
• Responsible for irrigation repairs up to 1 inch, including but not limited to irrigation head replacement
• Performs loading, unloading and inventory procedures daily
• Identifies grass and plant disease and stress indicators
• Maintains safe work habits and practices and exhibits proper use of Personal Protective Equipment by staying focused and engaged
• Communicates with residents when lawn or shrub issues are identified
• Checks in equipment used by crew at end of the day
• Supervises proper cleaning of equipment
• Ensures crewmembers remain at job site until proper time to leave
• Inspects the work accomplished by crew during day
• Gives instruction on the proper procedures for tasks to be accomplished
• Maintains a safe environment and ensures proper safety procedures are carried out
• Ensures all crewmembers are using proper Personal Protective Equipment
• Ensures company policies and procedures are followed by assigned crew team
• Supplies crewmembers with an adequate supply of water and/or Gatorade
• Provides feedback to management on the performance of assigned crew members, to include productivity, safety, attendance, cooperation, and any other information needed for the crew members performance reviews and any applicable disciplinary counseling
• Answers resident questions about grounds maintenance in a courteous and professional manner
• Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices
• Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward all residents, visitors and co-workers
• Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous grounds and equipment experience preferred
• Active BMP Certification required
• FNGLA and FCLMT Certifications required within one year

Skills and Knowledge:

• Must be able to read, write and understand English
• Bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred
• Ability to plan, organize, direct, coordinate, implement and oversee projects and personnel
• Must have a general knowledge of irrigation controller operation and components of an irrigation system
• Ability to read, understand and apply chemical label and restrictions;
