Job Summary
Assists with the implementation of capital outlay projects and major maintenance projects. Serves as liaison between operations and other District offices and schools on facilities design and construction issues. This role is beneficial for ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget, while also providing valuable support to the Project Manager.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Communicate with clients and team members to understand project needs and goals. Maintain communication with district and external contacts. Provide project status reports and respond to correspondence.
2. Review construction documents and coordinate efforts between District offices, school administrators, and maintenance personnel during design, bidding, and construction phases.
3. Prepare invoices, estimates, and schedule meetings.
4. Serve as contract compliance officer and ensure contract compliance throughout the life of assigned projects. Monitor and report on progress.
5. Maintain documentation and files related to project records, budgets, and contracts. Analyze project data as needed.
6. Develop project scopes in collaboration with District offices, school administrators, and maintenance personnel.
7. Assist with design oversight to ensure adherence to District Construction Building Standards and Professional Services Design Guidelines.
8. Coordinate and manage project tasks and deliverables with school administrators and parent groups for school-based projects.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Relevant training or certifications preferred.
Experience: Four (4) years of experience in project management or a similar role within a school district, university, community college, or governmental agency; OR two (2) years of experience in the office of a professional architect, engineer, or general contractor. Experience in design and construction of K–12 educational facilities preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
•Knowledge of Florida Building Code and State Requirements for Educational Facilities (SREF)
• Knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) code requirements
• Understanding of construction methods and procedures
• Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and database software
• Strong project management software skills
• Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Basic computer-aided drafting and design (CADD) skills
• Ability to plan, organize, schedule, and coordinate project-related functions
• Ability to influence and motivate others
• Sound independent judgment
•Ability to read and interpret blueprints
•Ability to meet deadlines and stay within budget
