POSITION:      CTE Community Engagement Manager - Exempt

 

LOCATION:     Sageview High School

 

HOURS:          8.00/day, Monday - Friday

                      200-day calendar

 

SALARY:         $59,802 - $71,026 (Prorated based on total days worked)

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The CTE Community Engagement Manager will coordinate and facilitate all aspects of career connections at the building level.
  • Provide clear communication, work effectively with staff, students, business and community members. 
  • Manages, coordinates, and administers career connected opportunities.
  • Creates and develops job shadow or internship opportunities aligned with student high school and beyond plans aligned with pathway goals.
  • Responsible for Career Guest Speakers, Resume support, Mock interview support and Career Day events in the local area.
  • Maintains a record of community partners and outreach activities by attending various community events representing PSD in the business community.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with local businesses and community leaders.
  • Works flexible hours during, after school and evening events focused on careers.
  • Works in partnership with counselor and principal to support and leverage resources.
  • Development of Career Focus practices involving the marketing and promotion throughout the school.
  • Promotes and participates in the district’s CTE Month.
  • Works with local trades and apprenticeship programs to highlight career opportunities
  • Work closely with CTE Tri City Educational Cooperative, WSU, CBC and local training centers to provide opportunities to students.
  • Must work within designated bound of authority and confidentiality.
  • Provide exemplary customer service and responsiveness to inquiries. 
  • Performs duties independently while managing various priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Network in the community to leverage resources for students.
  • Participate in District meetings to communicate information and gain feedback and/or direction on a variety of opportunities.
  • Distribute documents and materials to appropriate staff, students and/or parents.
  • Answer phones including support for other departments, taking messages, responding to voicemails and/or forwarding calls.
  • Perform other duties to assist in the daily activities for the building and administrator(s).
  • Assists with supervision of students to ensure a safe and productive learning environment. 

NON-ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist other personnel as may be required to support them with the completion of their work activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent industry experience required.
  • Bilingual and/or Biliterate (Spanish), preferred but not required. 
  • Prior experience coordinating career fairs, career surveys and trades/college visitations, preferred.
  • Evidence of ability to collect and analyze data to determine the impact of programs on student learning and career interests, preferred.
  • Experience working in a K-12 setting preferred but not required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of general office equipment such as computers, copiers, laminators, telephones, scanners, paper cutters, and/or step ladders.
  • Knowledge in proper use of English in both written and verbal forms, use of correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records.
  • Skill in operating standard office equipment including basic computer applications.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods.
  • Understand and conduct verbal and written instruction. 
  • Ability to follow safe work practices and procedures. 
  • Ability to follow supervisory directions and employ personal initiative when necessary.
