- Collaborate with the Englewood Educators Association to foster positive labor-management relations, support educator voice, and engage in ongoing dialogue around compensation, working conditions, and instructional best practices.
- Oversee the organization's position control system, ensuring accurate tracking, budgeting, and authorization of all established and proposed staffing levels across departments.
- Lead the 1338 Committee to ensure collaborative input and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Remain current with labor laws and proactively prepare for forecasted changes impacting district operations.
- Oversee recruitment and retention strategies to attract, develop, and sustain a high-quality, diverse workforce.
- Serve as the HR lead for staffing and budget planning, collaborating with Business Services and Englewood Educators Association representatives to align staffing needs with the annual budget while ensuring compliance with labor agreements and district policies.
- Support with hiring; including all aspects of onboarding staff.
- Lead Licensed New Teacher Orientation (NTO) to provide a smooth onboarding experience for all new licensed staff.
- Manage employee relations for licensed staff by providing guidance, coaching, and support.
- Conduct investigations and implement disciplinary actions in alignment with District policy, contractual agreements, and legal requirements.
- Lead and oversee the licensed staff evaluation process, including administration of the RANDA system; act as the primary liaison between the District and the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) to ensure compliance with state evaluation requirements, timelines, and reporting.
- Develop and manage compensation strategies, including salary schedule administration.
- Monitor and analyze local and national compensation trends and related HR issues to inform decision-making and ensure competitive and equitable practices.
- Negotiate healthcare services and benefits with the District’s benefit broker to ensure cost-effective and comprehensive coverage for employees, in alignment with district policies and budgetary guidelines.
- Deliver HR-focused sessions for principal induction and leadership development.
- Design and facilitate professional development and leadership training opportunities for licensed staff and administrators.
- Oversee HR communications, including content management for the department’s website.
- Present HR strategies, data, and updates to the Board of Education as requested.
- Bring timely topics to discuss and problem solve as a member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Human Resources provides leadership to align HR practices with the District’s mission and vision while advancing the Superintendent’s objectives. This role ensures the District maximizes the value of its human capital, supports employee growth and effectiveness, and fosters a positive organizational culture. The position provides expertise and guidance to stakeholders, develops and implements HR strategies and services in compliance with applicable laws and policies, and serves as a member of the Superintendent’s cabinet.
The Director must demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to advise the Superintendent and present HR matters to the Board of Education.
This position directs, supervises, evaluates, and manages all functions of the Human Resources Department.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Master’s degree in Business, Human Resources or other related field (preferred).
Bilingual (preferred).
Three (3) years job related experience (preferred).
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:
Valid Colorado Driver’s License.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EQUIPMENT & OTHER:
• Advanced oral and written communication, interpersonal, management, decision-making, mediation, and problem solving skills.
• Knowledge of state and federal laws as they relate to education and employment.
• Knowledge of schools and school systems.
• Advanced operating knowledge and experience with word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, and standard office equipment required.
• English language skills required.
SUPERVISION/TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITY:
Provides direct supervision to employees within the Human Resources Department. Oversees all supervisory functions in alignment with organizational policies and applicable laws. Key responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training staff; assigning and guiding work; evaluating performance; administering discipline when necessary; and addressing concerns or grievances to ensure effective resolution.
BUDGET AND/OR RESOURCE RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsible for developing the HR budget and for administering and monitoring it in coordination with the HR Manager. Oversee all vendor relationships, including selection, performance monitoring, and ensuring compliance with district policies and agreements. Obtain quotes or conduct formal solicitations in accordance with Board Policy on Purchasing Thresholds and Bidding Procedures to ensure compliance with procurement regulations.

SALARY:
Range: $95,000-$125,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
