The Austin Public School District is seeking to hire an Administrative Assistant at Austin High School Counseling Office
This position is a Level 4, 8 hour per day, 12 months per year position.
Position Detail:
Incumbents are responsible for performing administrative support activities requiring thorough knowledge and understanding of rules, regulations and policies in area of assignment and pertaining to the programs/services offered in order to explain and provide information to others in the area of day to day school operations. Essential duties of the position include:

Performs advanced secretarial and routine clerical work in the Austin High School Counseling Department - distributing messages, copying, faxing, processing incoming/outgoing mail, filing, typing documents, and providing customer service to internal and external sources.
- Works cooperatively with schools, districts, students, and families to acquire and distribute transcripts and school records for new and transferring students
- Highly organized and can matntain files and records
- Excellent communication skills and can work collaboratively in a fast past environment
Training & Experience:
Position requires a high school diploma or G.E.D., and three years of related office experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
