We have an opening for a full-time Pharmacy Technician Supervisor in the Boston North area of Massachusetts. The ideal candidate for this position has excellent interpersonal skills, communicates in a way that elicits the best performance from their employees, and knows how to empower their employees to work independently. Unlike retail pharmacies, you will not spend most of your time interacting with customers, will be in a comfortable environment with like-minded professionals, won’t have to rotate from location to location, and will be able to sharpen your skills as a pharmacist!
Job Summary: Under the direction and supervision of the Pharmacy Manager, the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor is responsible for the oversight and management of Technician operations. This person assists the Pharmacy Manager with the interviewing, hiring, orientation, discipline and ongoing training of all Pharmacy Technicians as well as maintaining records, and license status for quality assurance required by Joint Commission and the Board of Pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations to ensure best practices, regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures are followed.

Responsibilities:
· Oversees and facilitates the comprehensive orientation, and ongoing training of all technicians.
· Works with department managers to assure technician activities meet operation goals and objectives including but not limited to scheduling
· Coordinates the timely completion of assessments and all other clinical documentation that technicians are required to maintain.
· Demonstrates current knowledge related to all therapies provided by the company and educates technicians on new therapies. Displays ability to learn clinical tasks and operate within the scope of those functions under the direction of a pharmacist.
· Under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager, ensures the use of proper aseptic technique to complete sterile compounding in a timely manner according to company policies and procedures. Responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day workflow in the IV room is streamlined.
· Oversees and, when necessary, participates in the weekly, monthly, and daily Quality Assurance activities including but not limited to temperature monitoring of product environment and QA testing of compound batches. Ensuring the maintenance of the pharmacy clean room to <797> requirements. Retain clean room sterility testing documentation.
· Monitors inventory management functions involving purchasing and receiving drug shipments as well as computer system maintenance.
· Assists the Pharmacy Manager in guaranteeing that technicians are providing professional, safe, and cost-effective services ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
· Develops implements and monitors technician activities related to patient safety and ensures proper maintenance of patient information in accordance with state and HIPAA Security Regulations.
· Perform pharmacy technician duties as needed or as assigned.
· Participates in accreditation visit preparation. Participate in meetings with accreditation personnel.
· Gathers, evaluates, and analyzes data to generate workload reports and/or for other projects/statistical purposes.
· Provides appropriate guidance and supervision of technician staff in the delivery of patient care.
Educational Requirements:
· High School Diploma or equivalent required.
· Minimum of three (3) years home infusion therapy experience required.
· Minimum of one (1) year supervisory related experience in a hospital or homecare setting preferred.

· Working / practical knowledge of microcomputer systems including patient documentation systems, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), automated pharmacy systems, and IV Laminar flow Hood preferred.
Professional Requirements:
· Demonstrated Certification/Licensure as Pharmacy Technician as required by state specific Board of Pharmacy regulations.
· Knowledge of state Board of Pharmacy regulations required.
· National Technician Certification (CPhT) Required
· Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT) Preferred
· Knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security Regulations preferred.
· Knowledge of the Joint Commission accreditation process and overall JC standards preferred.
