McCrea Equipment Company, Inc., part of the McCrea family of companies, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Recruiter / HR Assistant to support our expanding operations across multiple states. This role plays a key part in recruiting top talent, streamlining HR processes, and strengthening our workforce through effective hiring, onboarding, and compliance practices.
Position Summary
The Recruiter / HR Assistant is responsible for developing, facilitating, and implementing all phases of the recruitment and onboarding process for a variety of positions across our divisions. This individual partners closely with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, craft job descriptions, and attract qualified candidates, while also supporting day-to-day HR functions such as employee documentation, background checks, and compliance.
Responsibilities
Manage full-cycle recruiting for skilled trades, technical, administrative, and management roles.
Collaborate with hiring managers to define job requirements, write job descriptions, and coordinate interviews.
Post and maintain job advertisements, screen candidates, and facilitate the selection and offer process.
Oversee onboarding, background checks, and compliance using ADP Workforce Now and Verified First.
Build relationships with trade schools, apprenticeship programs, and other community partners to support workforce development.
Maintain recruitment data and assist with HR administrative tasks as needed.
Represent McCrea at career fairs and recruiting events.
Required Skills
Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Experience developing and executing effective sourcing strategies.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and applicant tracking systems (ADP Workforce Now preferred).
Knowledge of employment laws and best practices in recruiting and onboarding.
Education and Experience
- 2+ years of experience in full-cycle recruiting or human resources.
- Experience in the construction, trades, or HVAC industry preferred.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential a plus.
