The Food and Beverage Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the service in the Food & Beverage Department. This position is also responsible for assisting the manager with training, motivating, and coaching the staff, and monitoring expenses and controlling labor costs.

Essential Functions

  • Supervise daily operations and shift activities to ensure efficient service and exceptional guest satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with F&B outlets and other departments to coordinate service and resolve guest concerns or special requests.
  • Lead pre-shift meetings and provide on-the-job training, guidance, and feedback to team members.
  • Monitor employee performance, staffing levels, and labor productivity; make adjustments to maintain efficiency and control payroll costs.
  • Ensure food and beverage quality, accuracy, and timeliness of service, including proper guest check settlement and table maintenance.
  • Enforce adherence to company policies, safety protocols, and standard operating procedures.
  • Promote teamwork, reliability, and continuous improvement while supporting department managers with operational and service goals.
  • Maintain knowledge of and comply with departmental policies, service procedures, 4 Keys service standards, brand guidelines, and safety and security procedures.
  • Perform all additional duties as assigned by management.

 

Skills and Abilities

  • Understand and align with the mission, vision, and goals of the hotel.
  • Prioritize tasks, work efficiently with limited supervision, and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
  • Communicate effectively in the primary workplace language, demonstrating excellent communication, follow-up, and organizational skills.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE, equipment handling, and compliance with required licenses or certifications.
  • Work well under pressure and in challenging conditions, using good judgment to resolve problems, follow directions, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Maintain a current permit or food safety certification as required by the local government.

 

Physical Requirements

  • The minimum physical requirements for this position include but are not limited to:
  • Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds frequently
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to hear, understand and communicate orally and in writing to communicate with staff, vendors, and guests in-person and phone conversation
  • Ability to bend and twist, push, and pull, stoop, and kneel
  • Work in environments with both hot and cold temperatures
