JOB SUMMARY:
The WMS Superuser oversees the administration of the company’s WMS reconciliation between Sunland’s WMS and customer systems. This individual serves as main point of contact on all WMS-related matters for the operation. This position is also responsible for the following: administration and maintenance of computer stations, troubleshooting, systems backups, and archiving. The superuser interacts with internal and external clients on all levels to help resolve WMS-related issues and provides answers in a timely manner. This includes tracking and documentation of user requests, engaging appropriate site/corporate/client resources to support the operation and timely closing of support service requests. The role also will improve systems configurations including areas such as WM put away rules, location profiling, and the like. Role will also be responsible for extracting data from systems to provide various reports to operational management.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Acts as the primary support of the company’s systems solutions for the user community
- Develops and maintains tracking tools for support service requests and resolutions by location and resource
- Engages appropriate expert resources when complex support issues arise outside of the WMS and other applications
- Works with the Sunland IT team to successfully close support service request issues and support testing activities
- Works with project teams to help implement, maintain, and improve Internal Systems
- Effectively communicates relevant WMS-related information to site management and client management (as appropriate)
- Initiates and implements improvements in all areas of WMS responsibility
- Remains on the forefront of emerging industry practices
- Communicates effectively with internal clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions
- Continually seeks opportunities to increase internal client satisfaction and deepen client relationships
- Works with Inventory Control to effectively reconcile Sunland’s WMS & SAP
- Works with Operations to effectively train users in both Sunland’s and customer WMS/ERP Systems.
Knowledge/Experience/Skills:
- The position of WMS Systems Superuser requires familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (Infor, Camleot, SAP ... etc.). It also requires core computer and applications competency relevant to the role. Demonstrated ability of successfully working with operational resources
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple requests to ensure timely response to the users.
- General familiarity with warehousing / distribution operations
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a cross-discipline team environment
- Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures including inventory control and configuration
- Works under general supervision but is expected to use knowledge and experience to provide quality support to the user community
- Experience with RF/ RDTs, and other Sunland WMS
- Experience with SAP
- Strong proficiency with an established WMS needed
- Configuration and testing experience in a WMS system
- Core computer and applications competency relevant to role (Including MS Office, especially Excel)
- Ability to train and support users on new updates/enhancements as needed
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
4-Year College Degree preferred (computer science or related field of study) or comparable work experience
EXPERIENCE:
1-3 years experience in a similar position in a distribution center environment preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Possess or have ability to become forklift certified
- Valid Driver’s License or equivalent
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents, including protocols, standard operating procedures, customer orders, and pick tickets. Written and oral communication skills in English are required.
REASONING ABILITY:
Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Job requires physical stamina to be “on the floor” as needed to address issues or to lead projects in non-climate controlled environments including outdoors and covered storage. Works well under pressure and works as a team for the achievement of customer satisfaction.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Office environment is ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment. The performance of this position also requires exposure to the warehouse areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and foot protection, and distracting noise levels.
