Position Overview
- Under minimal direction, the ASM’s primary focus is developing, leading, and managing replacement parts and retrofit/replacement equipment sales through the AAON independent representative sales channel.
- Reporting to the Director of Aftermarket Sales (DAS), the ASM will work directly with and through AAON sales representatives to engage in and develop aftermarket parts sales through strategically placed rep owned parts stores. In addition, the ASM will work with the representative sales channel to develop retrofit & replacement equipment sales in their respective territories.
- The ASM will provide leadership and ongoing support for AAON sales representatives to develop and execute market strategies to engage Mechanical Service Contractors and Owners in the sale of replacement parts and retrofit & replacement equipment in their respective markets. The ASM will work to become a strategic part of the local Rep’s sales team.
ASM KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs):
- Increase sales in the aftermarket specific market channels (replacement parts and retrofit/replacement equipment).
- Accelerate sales growth of AAON products and solutions.
- Strengthen the AAON Rep distribution channel by broadening their business model to include dedicated parts and replacement/retrofit solution sales.
- Improve AAON’s value proposition in the market by gathering and developing market intelligence to constantly improve AAON sales, margins, and market penetration.
- Enhance AAON’s competitive market position.
- Ensure an excellent and consistent AAON customer experience.
- Provide constant feedback to Director of Aftermarket Sales & Service to realign strategies, goals and objectives as market conditions evolve.
Essential Job Functions
- Demonstrate technical expertise to develop credibility, loyalty, trust, and commitment.
- Understand and demonstrate ability to collaboratively set, meet and/or exceed ongoing sales goals.
- Train Representative sales associates to determine contractor needs for replacement parts and aftermarket solutions to meet ongoing repetitive solutions and parts requirements.
- Effectively write, present, and communicate aftermarket solutions.
- Positively and credibly influence replacement system solutions with customers in concert with the local sales representative
- Manage multiple, ongoing, representative relationships to develop local parts and aftermarket operations.
- Keep Director of Aftermarket Sales informed of progress and account status.
Travel:
This position requires extensive travel, up to 40%.
Position Location:
AAON has manufacturing facilities in Tulsa, OK and Longview, TX. However, the right candidate can work remotely from any location in the continental United States.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business and/or engineering and/or five or more years of HVAC Equipment Sales or related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Progressive field sales experience is essential.
- Heating, ventilation and air conditioning or construction industry experience is required.
- Excellent initiative, and interpersonal communications skills.
- Ability to achieve goals with minimal direction.
- Demonstrated ability to influence the market at key levels.
- Strong PC skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
