The Commercial Sales Manager will drive revenue growth and market expansion by leading, developing, and inspiring a team of Territory Account Executives. This role is accountable for building a high-performance sales culture, ensuring consistent execution of strategic initiatives, and delivering against ambitious sales and revenue targets.
The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in telecommunications or technology sales and a proven ability to motivate teams in selling complex communications solutions. Core offerings include fiber-based DIA, P2P, SD-WAN, Hosted Voice, SIP, Bulk and Hospitality services, and coax-delivered Internet, Video, and Voice.
Working closely with the VP/GM and Director of Commercial Services, the Commercial Sales Manager will oversee the execution of a Team Territory Plan designed to increase penetration, expand market share, and strengthen Armstrong’s competitive position within the SMB and Enterprise space.

What You Will Be Doing:
- Lead, coach, and manage a team of 10–12 Commercial Sales Representatives, including recruiting, onboarding, training, and ongoing performance management.
- Consistently achieve team sales and revenue goals through rigorous accountability, regular 1:1 coaching, and data-driven performance reviews.
- Partner with Account Executives to build and execute territory-specific prospecting strategies targeting serviceable and near-serviceable businesses.
- Drive proactive network and referral development, equipping team members to effectively cultivate external business networks and engage referral partners.
- Ensure consistent lead generation through timely follow-up, relationship management, and structured engagement strategies.
- Strengthen collaboration between Account Executives and internal stakeholders—including General Managers and Community Marketing Managers—to elevate Armstrong’s presence within local business associations, chambers of commerce, and professional networks.
- Guide team efforts to identify and engage key commercial real estate developers and construction partners in assigned markets.
- Provide hands-on coaching to secure Rights of Entry (ROEs) early in development cycles to maximize service opportunities.
- Conduct regular field ride-alongs with Account Executives to reinforce best practices, observe selling behaviors, and provide in-the-moment coaching.
- Champion a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the sales team.
What You Will Need:
- 3–5 years of proven success in sales leadership or management, preferably in telecommunications, technology, or related industries.
- 5+ years of direct B2B sales experience, with a track record of exceeding revenue and growth objectives.
- Telecom/cable sales experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, coach, and motivate high-performing sales teams.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to deliver compelling presentations to executives, customers, and community stakeholders.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing initiatives.
- Servant-leadership mindset: committed to the professional development and success of team members while achieving corporate goals.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans that drive measurable business results.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; Master’s degree a plus.
- Project management expertise and CRM proficiency are a plus.
