The Leadperson - Patching Crew is responsible for daily planning; directing, training, implementation and general supervision of his/her assigned area. Accountable to meet shipping schedules within budgeted allocations, and to meet the above responsibilities while insuring conformance to safety and. quality standards. Accountable to maintain a demonstrated ability to perform all the functions/operations of those positions within the department.
This is a 1st shift position.
General Duties include:
- Oversees a team, with assistance of the supervisor. Assist with training and development new coworkers in the areas of on-the-job training (pre-mix requirements, proper Tool Application for Repair, Preparation of product, etc), safety rules and regulations, and Company policies and procedures
- Provide input to Supervisor - Production in planning manpower utilization within the department with regarding to coworker skill level
- Direct crew's daily activities to achieve planned production schedule by making decisions based on complexity of the product and input from the Supervisor - Production
- Pre-plan daily and weekly scheduled and assign work to coworkers according to daily production reports. Schedule pieces to be blasted to ensure a smooth flow through the blasting process
- Work with Supervisor - Production and Scheduler for necessary changes for sequencing of product to meet changes in deliver schedule
- Oversee the quality of blast needed to sandblast finish a product by use of approved samples and mock-ups
- Ensure sand is ordered in a timely manner and record the usage of any hazardous materials
- Responsible for communicating with crew members on a regular basis including conducting and attending Tool Box Talks, MDI meetings, etc
- Instills in the team an attitude of safety first as it pertains to the department, company and corporate safety rules, regulations and procedures by demonstrating through one's own actions safety on a continuous basis and following all safety and healthy procedures to ensure top levels of safety for fellow coworkers
- Maintains and submits on time, all records and reports assigned including by not limited to: production reports, material usage, Tool Box Talk forms, Kronos time and attendance system, daily checklist, CBO's, etc
- Work with engineering for clarification of drawing issues
- Maintain budgeted hours for products assigned by comparing hours worked by the crew with efficiency reports
- Supervision of the assigned area, Oversee and maintain equipment in acid wash and sandblast areas by conducting daily inspections
- Accountable to meet production schedules within budgeted allocations and to meet the above responsibilities while ensuring conformance to safety and quality standards
- Meet goals for Lead-person Tracker program
- Conduct Journey-person and Final Finisher responsibilities as needed
- Accepts and commits to High Concrete Groups concept of Team managing and works to enhance ones performance as a team member and as a Lead
- Takes immediate corrective actions within the scope of assigned authority whenever productivity, quality, or safety problems arise, keeping ones Supervisor appraised of all situations
- Maintain all department equipment, inventory and order parts and supplies
- Provide regular verbal and written coworker performance updates to ones Supervisor and assist with annual performance appraisals
- Provide input to the supervisor so they supervisor may make informed decisions regarding hiring, firing, merit increases and disciplinary actions as needed
- Maintain quality focus for all tasks and looks to improve product for both internal and external customers. Participated in Quality projects
- Ensures proper finishes are completed for each piece per specifications. Cleans and returns all tools and equipment to storage area daily
Job requirements include:
- Demonstrated prior leadership experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- One (1) or more years of precast/prestress concrete experience
- Responsible and accountable to conduct responsibilities within the confines of EEO Title VII and other applicable law.
- Valid Driver's License
