Student Life | Student Health ServicesStudent Health Services serves the health care needs of OSU students. The Medical Assistant (MA) works with a multi-disciplinary team of physicians and other health care professionals to provide primary care, ambulatory care, and clinical services to students at The Ohio State University. The MA serves as one of the primary initial contacts with clinical services; by providing patient care, obtaining patient reason for visit, vital signs, and other clinical information; assists providers with procedures; prepare exam rooms, administers injections, carries out clinical orders and documents all information in the electronic health record. Primary work hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with occasional evenings or weekends.
Required Qualifications
Required: High school graduate or equivalent; graduate of an accredited medical assistant school; 1 year of relevant work experience; excellent verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of medical terminology; must obtain Basic Life Support- Health Care Worker (BLS-HCW) certification prior to start date; previous front-line customer service experience.
Desired: 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience; 1 year of work experience in an outpatient medical facility; Medical Assistant certification is with the approved certifications (i.e. CMA, NRCMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA): 6 months of electronic health information system training or experience; keyboarding training or experience.

Targeted hiring range is $16.65-$ 21.77/hr. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, the unit’s available budget, and the selected candidate’s qualifications.
Qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen and background check.
