Job Summary
The RAC Assistant manager duties and responsibilities will consist of assisting the RAC Director in the oversight of RAC staff and building operations. The RAC Assistant Manager will be responsible assisting the Director help in managing staff schedules, oversee building care and project, and assist in the organizing, promoting and executing of all RAC activities.
Essential RAC Job Functions & Responsibilities
Support the Director in ensuring the smooth operation, safety, and customer service of the RAC facility and its programs. Duties include, but are not limited to:

Supervise RAC staff and participants, ensuring smooth coordination of activities.

Train new staff members on facility procedures, expectations, and safety standards.

Greet and assist visitors, provide information about RAC activities, and encourage participation.

Direct guests to appropriate activity locations and provide clear event information.

Communicate clearly with instructors and assist them in facilitating their activities.

Assist in organizing, leading, and promoting RAC programs, activities, and events.

Assist in setting up decorations, equipment, and materials for events and programs.

Help manage daily facility operations, including opening/closing procedures and staff coordination.

Enforce and develop RAC rules and policies to maintain a safe, positive environment.

Explain safety procedures and proper use of RAC equipment to participants.

Inspect recreation areas and equipment to ensure safety prior to use.

Observe RAC programs for safety and operational efficiency, reporting any concerns.

Administer basic first aid when necessary and contact emergency personnel as needed.

Maintain accurate inventory and records of product sales.

Oversee and document snack and beverage sales in accordance with RAC guidelines.

Record participant feedback and complaints, and report outcomes to the Director.

Meet regularly with the Director to review rules, operations, and any work-related issues.
RAC Events & Responsibilities
Assist the Director and Recreation Coordinator in the planning, organization, and promotion of intramural sports and recreation events for the SWBTS/TBC community. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Supervise and manage intramural tournaments, leagues, and events.

Create and submit event poster information to the Communications Office.

Notify the Director of equipment and supply needs well in advance of each season (e.g., lights, balls, jerseys, etc.).

Submit accurate invoices for payment to game officials.

Maintain a complete and up-to-date inventory of RAC event equipment.

Safely store, label, and organize all RAC sports and event materials.

Report any issues, incidents, or safety concerns occurring during events to the Director promptly.

Qualifications / Education:
-
Minimum of a high school diploma.
-
Experience in recreation or athletics preferred.

Successful completion of background check, MVR, and credit check may be required.
Supervision:
-
This position will supervise people and operations when the Director is not present or unavailable.
-
This position reports to the RAC Director.
