The Barista demonstrates excellent customer service performance in that his/her attitude and actions are at all times consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission and Values of Covenant and the commitment to providing Extraordinary Care for Every Generation.
Responsibilities:Greets all customers with a friendly smile.
Honors customers by providing quick, friendly, and personal service.
Initiates dialogue and develops rapport with customers by learning their names and favorite drinks.
Generates customer satisfaction; responds appropriately to customer concerns.
Communicates customer complaints/concerns to gift shop manager.
Open the shop/close the shop.
Prepares a variety of hot, iced and blended drinks, using espresso machine, commercial blender, and other kitchen equipment.
Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served.
Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, recipe cards, preparation methods, quality standards and rules, policies and procedures.
Handles, stores and rotates all product properly.
Cleaning of equipment and all work surfaces.
Be punctual and reliable. Meet attendance requirements for the job.
Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
Accountable for work assignments to be completed in a timely basis.
Observes department policies and procedures.
Observes and complies with all State Health Codes.
Achieves high standards of sanitation and an organized and safe work environment.
Qualifications:EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities attained through work and life experiences.
Barista experience preferred, but not required. Training will be provided.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Attend required in-services and department meetings to stay informed and maintain competency
Socialization skills for interaction with all age groups.
Strong Customer Service skills
Ability to operate coffee equipment including espresso machine, commercial blender, and other kitchen equipment
Ability to meet time deadlines to complete job tasks
Ability to accept and adapt to change.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Demonstrates ability to interact with hospital patients and their families.
