Student Worker – Host/Greeter
Number of Openings: 6
Purpose/Objective of the Role:
To welcome all students into The 1842, providing a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all. Students will enter from multiple entrances, and the host will greet students as they enter. They will also check government issued IDs of students who plan to consume alcohol, and ensure that the facility is only used by students and their guests. Additionally, hosts/greeters will be responsible for checking game equipment in and out and managing game equipment reservations.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Welcome all students and their guests into The 1842
- Check all government issued IDs of students planning to consume alcohol
- Ask students who are drinking without a hand stamp to see their ID and follow procedures/rules set if for underage drinking and/or a fake ID is found
- Help with set up and clean-up of The 1842 each shift
- Sign out and returning of game equipment; manage game equipment usage times
- Report and actions or incidents that jeopardize student safety, damage property, or are unlawful that occur on the grounds of the facility
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Skills:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Friendly
- Willingness to speak up when things are not right
- Available to work nights and weekends
