PreSurgery APP(CRNP) -Part Time na OSS Health

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:

Education:

· PA or CRNP degree and Pennsylvania license required.

Qualifications:

· Previous experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner preferred.

· BLS certification required.

· Ability to function independently as well as being a contributing member of the clinical team.

· Demonstrated time critical decision-making skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Examines, evaluates and performs comprehensive physical examinations of pre-operative patients. May perform these duties in tandem with the Physician or independent (but under the ultimate guidance of) of the Physician.

· Compiles patient’s medical data, including health history and the results of the physical examination.

· Orders diagnostic studies to ensure patient’s suitability for surgery

· Performs other responsibilities as assigned by the Physician or COO in support of the patient’s proper care and the level of customer service to which the organization      is committed.

   Collaborative approach in working with PreSurgery team, Nurse Navigation and Anesthesia to build on efficiency and support patient needs.

   Opportunities to cross train to other departments as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTIES:

No direct reports.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must be proficient in the English language, both verbally and written, in order to communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians, vendors, and the general public.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Moderate physical effort working. Efforts consisting of standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, and stooping. Frequently lifting and/or moving 25 to 50 lbs. Must be able to respond quickly and effectively to an emergency.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Climate controlled environment with occasional periods of being outside. Exposed to blood borne pathogens, anesthetic gases, odorous chemicals and specimens, toxic chemicals, electrical and mechanical hazards, bio-contaminated waste, radiation from x-rays and unpleasant elements.
