ABOUT THE POSITION

The Senior Process Engineer will initiate and implement process optimization and reliability initiatives.  The position will also be responsible for identifying, managing, and executing Capital Projects for the plant.  This position will require the individual to work not only with their Engineering colleagues, but with coworkers from Manufacturing, Maintenance, Quality as well as with Customers. Travel is required on an as-needed basis for training, Plaskolite Plant visits, and potentially supporting requirements at customer locations.

ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Process Monitoring

• Troubleshoot ongoing process problems
• Monitor overall Extrusion Process and Optimize and Standardize where possible
• Participate as engineering team member to support maintenance shutdowns
• Coordinate efforts with outside suppliers and contractors
• Develop continual improvement of preventative maintenance routines

      2. Process Improvement

• Develop procedural and equipment change plans for process improvements

• Lead training for engineers, maintenance and manufacturing for new equipment and processes
• Assist manufacturing efforts in all New Product / Process Development trials

      3. Project Engineering

• Identify process concerns, develop and prioritize projects, and implement solutions to address them
• Provide engineering support on assigned projects
• Provide necessary information to management for project approval

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS in Mechanical, Chemical or other engineering discipline
• 2+ years’ experience as a Process Engineer in a manufacturing environment
• Organizational skills and a systematic approach to problem definition and solution development
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Leadership abilities to be able to lead projects
• Strong self-motivation to be able to work independently
