About the Department
Position Duties
Minimum Qualifications
- Terminal academic doctorate (Ph.D., DSc, Ed.D, etc.) or a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (DPT or tDPT).
- If the candidate is a PT, they should be licensed or eligible for licensure as a physical therapist in Ohio.
- A scholarship agenda, or evidence of peer reviewed publications/technical reports/grants, or presentations, which may include scholarship of teaching and learning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching in the areas of anatomy, therapeutic exercise, orthopedics, neuroscience, neurological practice, therapeutic modalities, pain science, pathology, physiology, professional competencies, evidence-based practice, cardiopulmonary, diagnostic imaging, or physical therapy fundamentals.
- Terminal academic doctorate (PhD, DSc, EdD, etc.).
- American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) or certification credentials appropriate for their teaching responsibilities.
- Experience teaching online courses.
- Excellent communication skills and strong computer skills to meet the needs of our online didactic instructional format.
- Team-oriented and willing to collaborate and share instructional methods and student-learning activities.
- Appreciation of evidence-based teaching, integration of technology within the classroom and building a student-centered community within the online classroom.
- Knowledge of legislative, regulatory, legal, and practice issues affecting didactic and clinical education, students, and the profession of physical therapy.
